Báidín Fheilimí (Phelim's boat)

Lyrics

Báidín Fheilimí ‘d’imigh go Gabhla
Báidín Fheilimí ‘s Feilimí ann
Báidín Fheilimí ‘d’imigh go Gabhla
Báidín Fheilimí is Feilimí ann

Curfá
Báidín bídeach, báidín beosach
Báidín bóidheach, báidín Fheilimí
Báidín díreach, báidín deontach
Báidín Fheilimí is Feilimí ann

Báidín Fheilimí ‘d’imigh go Toraigh
Báidín Fheilimí ‘s Feilimí ann
Báidín Fheilimí ‘d’imigh go Toraigh
Báidín Fheilimí is Feilimí ann
Curfá

Báidín Fheilimí briseadh i dToraigh
Iasc ar bhord agus Feilimí ann
Báidín Fheilimí briseadh i dToraigh
Iasc ar bhord agus Feilimí ann
Curfá

Notes

This is a traditional song that I learned in Francis Street CB school in Dublin about 1951.  Phelim was an Ulster chieftain who tried to escape his enemies in a small boat off the coast of Donegal
