Flower of Magherally

One pleasant Summer’s morning, flowers were a blooming-o
Nature was adorning, small birds sweetly tuning-o
I met my love near Banbridge town, my charming blue-eyed Sally-o
She’s the queen of county Down, the Flower of Magherally-o

With admiration I do gaze upon my fair haired maiden-o
Adam ne’er so much was pleased when he met Eve in Eden-o
Her skin is like the lily white that grows in yonder valley o
I am blessed when I am nigh the Flower of Magherally-o

Her golden hair in ringlets falls, her boots are Spanish leather-o
Her bonnet with two ribbons on, her scarlet cap and feather-o
Like Venus bright she does appear, my charming blue-eyed Sally-o
She’s the one that I love dear, the Flower of Magherally-o

I know the day will surely come when we join hands together-o
I’ll bring home my darling girl in spite of wind and weather-oh
Let them all say what they will, let them rail and rally o
I will wed the girl I love – the flower of Magherally-o
